We are happy to announce that we can welcome 3 new members in the organization committee: Oxana, Azimé and Sadiya.
Sadiya is a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Her style can best be described as theatrical and for her, every dance should tell a story and convey a concept or emotion. She makes costumes, has a background as lighting technician and uses her skills for dance performances. She loves classical (Egyptian) bellydance, but she also likes to experiment with fusion. She is particularly fond of American Tribal Style, because of the feminin power and the sisterhood inherent in this style. Her ambition is to make bellydance accessible for the greater public and to bridge the gap between traditional bellydance and modern fusion styles.
Azimé is a fusion fantasy dancer, choreographer and belly dance instructor from Belgium (Bruges). She is known for her unique, typical style of belly dance that can be described as lively, energetic, very feminine and always with a twist.
Azimé loves to share her passion for dance by offering weekly bely dance classes to different groups: from beginners to the more advanced level. In her classes, she always stresses the importance of using the correct technique, the importance of isolation and the correct execution of movements.
With her show group 'Azimés Bellydance Company' she creates innovative fantasy fusion choreographies. The many titles she already won, prove that the audience really likes Azimés style. Recently, her show group Azimés Bellydance Company won silver and bronze in the categories Groups Fusion Fantasy and Formations Fusion Fantasy at the Bellydancer of the World contest in Duisburg (GER 0216). Other titles Azimé won are: Vice world champion Fusion Fantasy Duo (GER 2015) and Benelux champion duo (NL 2015) with dance partner Lies Ramon and Benelux champion show team (NL 2016) and champion Fusion group (BEL 2014) with her show group Azimés Bellydance Company.
Oxana is a dance teacher and a choreographer in the povince of Zeeland in the Netherlands. She earned her master degree at Zabaikalsky State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, Russia. She learned Egyptian bellydance with Spanish accents in St. Petersburg, Russia and joined a Show belly dance group there very soon.
In 2007 she moved to the Netherlands where she continued practising bellydance and flamenco dance in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain, and of course St. Petersburg, Russia. Being inspired by expressive belly dance movements, passion of Andalusian dance and sensitivity of Argentine Tango, she commenced to create and develop her own fusion dance style on basis of these dance styles.
In 2010 she formed a dance group on the island of Schouwen Duiveland, in the povince of Zeeland, where the group is still being very active. Since then she has been giving belly dance lessons in Ellemeet, Kerkwerve, Zierikzee, Goes and Middelburg. Later, she formed her Show group, named Oxana’s Ensemble, which takes part in different social activities in the province of Zeeland and outside it, including participations in Charity Events, to contribute to the world humanitarian acts (e.g. Serious Request).
Being impressed by the beauty of Arabian drum rhythms, she also learned to play Arabian darbuka, being educated by Ossama Shanin (Lebanon – St. Petersburg, Russia). Hence, she has also joined a darbuka players group in Antwerp, Belgium.
She is also a belly dance outfits designer and makes belly dance costumes and veils.
